A byte about me

Since I was a little kid I've been fascinated about videogames. The moment I learnt that I could be making my own games and collaborate with others I though "Yep, that's my thing" - and that's what I've been doing for the past 5 years.

What makes a good game?

That's the question that has been inside my head ever since I started, and it has allowed me to improve with every step I take during this journey. Alright alright, you want to know the answer, don't you? Simple. "Experience, Vision & Management". There you go, you don't need me anymore! Okay, I know it's a dissatisfying but let me explain.

Chances are that when you do something for the first time, you are going to fail - and that's fine. What matters is that the second time you do it better and learn fast. Now the third time you do it, you will be at another whole level. That is Experience.

Knowing your limitations can be hard, and we tend to over-estimate what we (or our team) can achieve. Videogames are one of the hardest and more complex pieces of software out there, and if you don't have enough experience it's hard to estimate the resources you need. That's why you need to have a good Vision.

It is a common thing for developers to get stuck on fancy things and get distracted by shiny objects, it is in our DNA. Without a proper Management system, your project will never advance consistently.

These three things are what I wished I'd known when starting out, and I'm here to help you get them right.

My Tech Stack, Skills & Knowledge

My primary game engine is Unity, but I also have some side experience with Unreal. I consider myself a trained problem solver and a very technical person. I'm comfortable with the most popular coding languages out there - C# and Python are my go-to for personal projects. I'm also experienced at full-stack development and system design.

However, there's not just numbers in my head. I'm a highly creative subject and I enjoy making art too! For 3D I use Blender daily and ZBrush/Substance for more advanced modelling. I also like to compose and produce music, but that's more of a hobby of mine.
